Worcester blue scale mug of cylindrical shape with two gilt scrolling cartouches each painted with an exotic bird c. 1768-75
Height:: 3.5 ins.
Condition: Defective in manufacture, a firing crack in the biscuit state bleed through to the inside of the mug when adding the blue scale, when fired in the first glaze state, the mug adhered to kiln and in removing it, the foot was chipped. When the  mug was gilded note the bottom gilt line on reverse follows the chipped foot and is not straight. The mug again adhered in the gold firing causing a chip in the gilt line. The foot rim was slightly ground to sit level.
